1)教师把挂图上的日历用纸片挡住,把挂图展示在黑板上。首先让学生猜时间,每次猜一幅图。
What month is this? 提醒学生根据图画的背景来猜。如果有学生猜对,教师就及时表扬,同时把遮挡的小纸片拿下来。It's .... You are a clever boy / girl! How do you know it? 让学生说出理由。
2)猜测完时间后,教师接着问学生:What is Mimi doing in this picture? What is Micky doing in this picture? 每幅小图都问同样的问题,最后引导学生得出结论:Mimi likes reading. She reads many books. Micky likes playing. He never reads books.
3)教师准备放录音:There is an interesting story about Mimi and Micky.Do you want to know it? Let's listen! 放录音让学生听。
4)找一个学生来说说故事的大概内容。教师给以鼓励。

1)让学生三人一组,一人做解说,分角色练习。最后戴上面具到前面表演,1—2组。师生共同评价。
2)Play games.
1.组词大赛:教师为学生提供本课单词所涉及到的字母,然后让学生在限定时间内开展组词大赛,组词最多者获胜。字母可以重复使用,但是不可以用没有提供的字母。
2.看日历填空
提供月份日历,请学生根据日历卡所提供的月份,通过思考,添入相关信息,如:本月份是一年的第几个月份,本月份有什么节日,人们都做什么事情等。

Pre-task preparation
1 Ask: What do you usually do at weekends? Do you usually have a picnic? to review: picnic, fountain and pond. Introduce: football pitch. Draw a football pitch on the board. Ask: Where can you find a football pitch? Do you usually play football there? Write: Zhongshan Park, City Park, Moon Park on the board. Ask the students to name a few more places where people usually go on holidays.
2 Play the recording: Look and read. Students listen and follow in their books.
3 Play the recording again. Students listen and repeat.
While-task procedure
1 Ask the students to read the information boards in Read and choose. Students work in groups to discuss where all the characters want to go. Distribute a copy of Photocopiable page 17 to help the students make a choice. Invite the more able students to tell the reasons.
2 Distribute a copy of Photocopiable page 18 to each student. Students work in groups of five. They are required to discuss what their group are going to do on a holiday. Then each group member has to choose a place which suits most of the group members. Finally, the group can vote and choose the most suitable place to go.
3 Play the recording: Read a poem. Students listen first. Then the whole class follow and read together.
4 Encourage the students to rewrite the verses. Distribute a copy of Photocopiable page 19 to each group. Ask them to replace City Park with the place which they would like to visit. Groups take turns to read their poem. The whole class vote for the best reader.

1)把月份名称写在卡片上,让S1抽取一张,不让其他学生看见卡片内容。S1不能出声,可以用动作,也可以用口形向大家提供信息,大家猜是几月份。
2)教师课前先制作好一个标有12月份缩写的圆盘,中间是一个可以移动的指示箭头,如钟表状,让学生分组来转,指到哪一个月,要先用英语读出来,并且再造一个句子,例: May is the fifth month of the year.说对的学生为本组赢得小旗子,哪组旗子多,哪组是冠军。

1)就故事提问,引出新单词post card, newspaper,magazine,comic- book,并出示其音标。
2)教学以上四个单词(齐读单词magazine;指名拼读单词post card及comic book的音标;教学单词newspaper时,问:How many words can you see from this word? What are they? New means“新的”;News means“新闻”;Paper means“纸”;专门写新闻的纸,我们称为报纸)。
